How the scientific calculator works

Use + − * / for arithmetic, ^ for powers and % for remainder. Functions: sqrt, abs, log (base 10), ln, exp, sin, cos, tan, floor, ceil, round, pow, min, max. Constants: pi and e. Brackets and the usual order of operations apply.

Example

(12.5*4+sqrt(81))^2/3 works out as (50 + 9)² ÷ 3 = 1,160.33.

Frequently asked questions

Does it follow the order of operations?

Yes. Brackets first, then powers, multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction.

Radians or degrees?

Choose the angle unit before using sin, cos or tan. Radians is the default.

What is the difference between log and ln?

log is the base 10 logarithm and ln is the natural logarithm (base e).
