How the days between dates calculator works
Total days = end date − start date. The end date is not counted, so Monday to Tuesday is 1 day. Weekdays count Monday to Friday only and ignore public holidays.
Example
From 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2027 is 364 days, which is exactly 52 weeks.
Frequently asked questions
Are both the start and end dates included?
The start date is counted and the end date is not. Add 1 if you want both ends included.
Does the order of the dates matter?
No. If the start date is later than the end date the calculator swaps them.
Are public holidays excluded from weekdays?
No. Only Saturdays and Sundays are excluded.
